  Jesus - WHERE is he?!! Survey

  blondie has repeatedly asked in her item on the wt study "where is jesus?".

  since the wtbts claims to be christian, you could reasonably expect such an organization to talk about jesus could you not?.

  for all jws, and others - start counting how often jesus is mentioned at the meetings.

  Since this is an old topic I don't know if anyone will respond... but didn't they have awhole book dedicated to Jesus, that they studied at the bookstudy? It was called the Greatest man whoever lived. Did everyone just forget that?

  They also made quite a few mistakes in that book. I inderlined the mistakes and showed them to the poor unsuspecting JW lady who had brought it by. But Hammy's right, the book even though it had many mistakes got people to talking way too much about Jesus.

  Right on Lill. If the rank and file JW could chance the experience of a close personal relationship with Jesus, they would soon learn of the freedom that comes. THEN who's gonna buy all those magazines?

  As far as Jesus being dead; all those that seen Him raise in the flesh were so sure of what they had seen they turned the world upside down. Today we have hospitals, clinics, food banks, homeless shelters, orphanages, schools, refugee camps, etc all in His honor.

  I loved going to the bathroom. I had to space them out so nobody questioned if I had to pee or not. Well, actually, I hated that when some mother was beating her children in there.

  sorry pre 1975 was a nightmare, post 1975 sucked.....

  Society letter read to all congregations July 28,2006 !!

  i got news of this from the jw grape vine today that at the meeting on thursday(yesterday) there was a letter read to all the congregations from the society.

  for the first time the society says in the letter to prepare for great tribulation and to have plenty of emergency supplies in case of a disaster.

  this has shaken the up the jws it seems.

  In military time, that would be expressed as 448. Thats 218 less than 666!

  And coincidentily, Armageddon will come 218 sundays after the day this was uttered.

  How being a JW affected me as a person

  not long ago i bet no one from this site would have been able to stand me for 2 seconds.

  i was one of the most fiercest jws of all time.

  i'd argue until i was blue in the face and i was darn good at it to.

  They completly miss the whole point of what it means to be Christ like.

  This list, formed from the Gospels and Philippians 2:5-11, as well as some other lists that have come out of the understanding of the Nature of Jesus:

  3. Lead by Example
  4. Humble
  5. As A Child
  6. As the Younger
  7. As the Least
  8. Last
  9. Used No Force on Us
  10. Was Not Driven by Selfish Ambition
  11. Made Himself of No Reputation
  12. Was Fully Human
  13. Obedient
  14. Unto Death

  Everything we say, publish or do, we try to conform to this list if we want to call ourselves Christians.

  
  Knowing this about Jesus opened my eyes to the incredible Grace of the Father, since Jesus said that when you had seen Him you had seen the Father.

  Doesn't sound like the Society does it..

  It is on right now on CNN, it is 4:48 pacific time. They got the nerd Hagee on. He is no theologian.

  The truth about Jesus is kept under wraps at the Klingon Hall.

  That is because somebody at Bethel, somebody who writes the literature knows

  If the rank and file dub had a close personal relationship with Jesus, they would have no need to work for their paradise hope.

  In a close personal relationship with Jesus it is understood that He paid the price for all your sins and you can not do anything to deserve it, it is a free gift.

  If there ever were meetings that could have been attended, obedience to a group of men, service hours turned in, a special way to talk and dress, if it was possible to earn a spot in paradise, then Jesus would have never had had to die.

  That is why the whole truth of what the Bible REALLY says about Jesus is kept hush hush.

  I was a self righteous biatch when I was a JW.

  Welcome to the world of unconditional love, mutual respect and acceptance. Better late than never! It feels so gooooood to not have to be right and "in the truth" all the time. It is freedom to not have all the answers and God tucked in a neat little Watchtower box.

  i am currently reading steve hassan's book on combating cult mind control and i came across a very interesting point about the difference between brainwashing and mind control.

  brainwashing is a coercive type of control in which a idea is forced on you with little choice.

  people who are brainwashed know they are being indoctrinated; their freedom is cut off.

  I agree with Skully that some JW children may indeed come under the brainwashing definition. Some may have an awareness of the wrongness of it.

  As children you have no clue you are being mind controlled because adults are all knowing to you. I never questioned anything. I do remember going to hang out with animals at the agriculteral center of my elementary school quite a bit by myself.

  Animals made much more sense to me, but I had yet to discover why.

  I'm so sorry for your loss.

  Please don't take the pain out on yourself. Try to meditate on anything outside your pain.

  If it will be a good thing for you, I hope you can make the funeral.
